Traditional Ashtanga Yoga Classes

Mysore

The traditional method of learning Ashtanga Yoga. Students are instructed on an individual basis to learn and maintain practicing the traditional sequences of Ashtanga Yoga with individual adaptation when necessary, over time with hands on adjustments, personalized guidance from the teacher, and attention to special needs. This is NOT a led class.

This is a great way for beginners to establish a practice. No previous knowledge of the Ashtanga Yoga system is required to start practice.  It is designed for students who are able to commit to attending at least two days a week over a long period of time.  If you are visiting for a short period of time and are not interested in learning the practice, I would recommend taking one of our Beach Yoga classes in the Summer or arranging a Private Group Yoga lesson at your home. For visiting Ashtangis who already have an established practice, you are welcome to join us for practice.

The time interval listed on the class schedule is NOT a definite start and stop time.  It is NOT a 2 hour class. The times listed are an open time slot in which students are welcome to come and go on their own time.  The duration of your practice is adaptable to the needs of the day.   Right now the best arrival time is between 7:30am-8:30am in the morning and 5:30pm-6pm in the evening. In this setting you can customize your practice to your needs daily. I am happy to help you work through injuries or other special needs. It basically equates to a private consultation in a group setting.  There is nothing like it! Come, take practice!
